Call for new trial of coach on sex abuse charges
Jerry Sandusky's lawyers are seeking a new trial for the former US college football coach.
HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania:- Jerry Sandusky s lawyers are seeking a new trial for the former U.S. college football coach convicted of sexually abusing several boys.
The lawyers will argue Thursday in Pennsylvania that they didn t have enough time to prepare for last year s trial.
The case against the 68-year-old Sandusky drew huge national attention because it shook the reputation of one of the country s most legendary sports programs.
Sandusky was sentenced to at least 30 years in prison. He maintains his innocence.
His lawyers say some of the charges were so general and nonspecific that they should have been dismissed.
