Pakistani leggie Yasir Shah just took 27 Test matches to secure the landmark
(Web Desk) – Yasir Shah has become the quickest spinner to take 150 Test wickets as he reached the landmark today while playing his 27th match. The Swabi-born leg-spinner went up the list above Australian leg-spinner Clarrie Grimmett who took 28 Tests to do so.
Shah picked up two wickets in his 34-over spell while playing in his 27th match against Sri Lanka today.
The list contains another Pakistani – off-spinner Saeed Ajmal who took 29 Test matches to get 150 batsmen out. Both South African Hugh Tayfield and India s R Ashwin took the same number of matches as Ajmal to achieve the mark.

Moreover, the 31-year-old Shah is second quickest to take 150 Test wickets in all history. Like pacer Waqar Younis, he stands at the second spot below England s Sydney Barnes who has kept the record for quite a time now. Barnes played 24 Tests before reaching the landmark of 150 wickets.
When it comes to the quickest bowler to take 150 wickets in Tests with respect to time from debut, Shah is just behind Mitchell Johnson and Graeme Swann with 2 years and 341 days. He is behind Stuart MacGill and R Ashwin in terms of quickest to 150 Test wickets with respect to number of balls bowled.
