PCB had issued show-cause notice to right-hand batsman asking explanation of his actions

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Umar Akmal submitted written reply to the show-cause notice issued by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) asking explanation of his statements against head coach Mickey Arthur.

In the response on Wednesday, Akmal claimed he was not treated appropriately for the last few years which forced him to take a stand against Arthur. The right-hand batsman said he went public to address his complaints because head coach’s behaviour wasn’t tolerable anymore.

It should be recalled that Umar Akmal conducted a press conference last week in which he accused Arthur of subjecting him of verbal abuse and unfair treatment, and then telling him to play club cricket rather than NCA pratise. He claimed chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mushtaq Ahmed were witness of the embarrassing moment.

The 27-year-old has also asked PCB Chairman Najam Sethi to take notice of the matter and launch proper investigation.
