Test rankings: Azhar slips to eighth position, Pakistan stay at number six

DUBAI (Dunya News) – In the latest Test rankings that have been released by the International Cricket Council (ICC), Pakistan’s Azhar Ali has slipped from number six to eight in batsmen’s classification without playing a match.

Azhar Ali, who is the only Pakistani in the top ten Test batsmen, is now placed at number eight with 769 rating points. The category is topped by Australia’s Steve Smith (941), and followed by England’s Joe Root (891) and India’s Cheteshwar Pujara (888) respectively.



Among the teams, Pakistan maintained their sixth spot in the Test rankings with 93 rating points. India are sitting at the top with 123 rating points followed by South Africa (110) and England (105) respectively.



No Pakistan player is in the top ten Test bowlers, which are led by India’s Ravindra Jadeja (893 rating points), and followed by England’s James Anderson (860) and India’s Ravichandran Ashwin (842). The highest ranked Pakistani Test bowler is Yasir Shah who is placed at number 14 with 698 rating points.
