WEB DESK – Former opening batsman Aamer Sohail has recently clarified his statement that he made about skipper Sarfaraz Ahmad after Pakistan’s dramatic win against Sri Lanka in the virtual quarter final of ICC Champions Trophy.

While talking to a private channel, the former chief selector let it be known that the he made those comments after hearing reports of Sarfaraz s refusal to dedicate his performance against Sri Lanka to Miandad.

It is worth mentioning here that it was the skipper’s innings that guided his team to a jaw-dropping win against Sri Lanka and which came on cricketing legend’s birthday.

Aamer Sohail also clarified that he didn’t say anything about match-fixing or any other foul play and that his statement was wholly and solely misunderstood.

After Pak-Sri Lanka showdown, it was the former opening batsman Aamer Sohail who criticised Sarfaraz Ahmad and professed that the skipper has nothing to be so proud about for he has just became captain.

He went on to say during the post-match analysis that it was because of the prayers and Almighty that Pakistan won that match and that he couldn’t name the facilitators of those prayers.

Aamer s comments received extreme backlash once the video of his interview went viral on TV and social media. Moreover, the  facilitators  remark in particular was widely regarded as an accusation of foul play in the win.
