Champions Trophy: India, SA to clash for semifinal berth today
The match is scheduled to be played at The Oval at 02:30 PM (PST).
LONDON (Dunya News) – Defending champions India and world number one South Africa are to lock horns with each other today (Sunday) to book Champions Trophy semifinals spot in eleventh match of the tournament.
The match is scheduled to be played at The Oval at 02:30 PM (PST). The losing team will be eliminated from the championship, therefore, the game has become a virtual ‘quarter-final’.
Both teams are heading into their concluding group match after suffering two of the tournament’s biggest upsets so far. The Proteas were stunned by Pakistan on Wednesday by 19 runs (D/L method), and Sri Lanka thrashed India by seven wickets on Thursday.
South Africa and India have played two matches each, and both of them share two points with one victory and one defeat to their names. The track record of both teams in ICC events favors India, as the men in blue have emerged victorious eight times out of 12 against South Africa.
