In a tweet, Najam Sethi said that all franchises have resolved on the matter

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Najam Sethi on Monday tweeted that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) management and franchises have resolved to hold the final match in Gaddafi Stadium of Lahore.

Moreover, he invited the Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief Ministers of all provinces – Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif, Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah, KP CM Pervez Khattak and Balochistan CM Sanaullah Zehri – to match the final match of PSL in Lahore.

Due to security concerns in Lahore following the devastating blast happening in Punjab s provincial capital, it was stated that many international players will not be able to come to Pakistan. However, Najam Sethi gave two options to the nation whether to play a star-studded final match of PSL in Dubai or to play a match including just the local and national players in Lahore, Pakistan.

It seems now that most of the foreign players will miss out on the final of PSL. Having said that, a draft by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is scheduled to happen on February 22. The government of Punjab is expected to take help from Rangers and Pakistan Army soldiers in order to provide foolproof security for foreign players and coaches. The complete security plan will be formulated within three days time.

The English right-hand batsman and power house of Quetta Gladiators, Kevin Pietersen, remains undecided whether to arrive in Pakistan. He said in a statement that he will make the last call once his team qualifies to play the final. Other English players like Eoin Morgan, Steven Finn, Sam Billings have already headed back to play West Indies series. Most international players will decide whether to play in Pakistan after the draft.

The PSL final in Lahore is scheduled March 7, 2017. Today’s match will be played between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United.
