Karachi's local court issues arrest warrant against Wasim Akram

Akram had not appeared before court in last 31 hearings.

KARACHI (Daily Dunya) – A local court in Karachi issued arrest warrant Tuesday against former Pakistan captain and legend cricketer Wasim Akram after he failed to appear before court in last 31 hearings of a case that he himself had lodged at Bahadurabad police station against Maj (retd) Amirur Rehman for shooting incident that took place on August 5, 2015.

According to details, the bailable arrest warrant was generated by Judicial Magistrate Sharqi, and Wasim Akram has been asked to appear before court on January 17.

Wasim Akram had filed this case last year when his car was hit by the accused at Karsaz road on the way to National Stadium. The suspect opened fire after verbal brawl which hit Akram’s car’s tyre.

Akram remained unhurt after the firing attack but he noted the offending vehicle number and gave it to the police.
