Zainab outshined all other sports anchors, to co-host PSL

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Dunya News’ sports analyst Zainab Abbas along with former English county cricketer Alan Wilkins has been selected co-host first ever Pakistan Super League (PSL), opening ceremony of which is on Thursday at 7pm PKT in Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Zainab Abbas, currently working with Pakistan’s leading news channel Dunya News, will not just be part of PSL’s opening ceremony but also a part of the league till the end. She will be conducting sideline interviews of players during the matches and will be the part of pre and post match shows.

Talking about Zainab’s association with cricket, her work demonstrates that she is the right person to do the job. Zainab has a good cricketing brain; she does not just talk but is well aware of the game. Zainab has hosted various shows including Dunya News’ Cricket Dewangi. She has also conducted exciting interviews of prominent sports personalities like Imran Khan, Shahid Afridi, Muhammad Amir and Ramiz Raja. Her expert opinions are also acknowledged by cricket’s most prestigious website Cricinfo. She also writes feature stories as well.

Since her association with Dunya News, Zainab has been an integral part of every sports show organised by the channel. She also gave her expert opinions during the cricket’s mega event World Cup 2015. Cricketing fans have welcomed PCB’s move to appoint Zainab Abbas as an official co-host.

Islamabad United:

Islamabad United is among the most competitive teams of PSL. Having Dunya News as its media partner, the side is going to be led by one of Pakistan’s best captains Misbah ul Haq and includes world-class T20 specialists like Australian all-rounder Shane Watson, wicket- keeper batsman Brad Haddin, West Indies’ Andre Russle, Samuel Badree and Englishman Sam Billings. The squad also contains talented Pakistani players like Babar Azam, Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Muhammad Irfan, Umar Amin, Muhammad Sami and star off-spinner Saeed Ajmal who was selected as a supplementary player.

United is among the favorites of the league as the team has very well balanced batting combination, spin and pace attack.

Pakistan Super League (PSL):

Pakistan Super League (PSL) is all set for its debut. It is the most awaited cricket league which is finally going to be held within less than 24 hours. 5 teams are participating in the league included Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi. All teams are confident to win the first ever Pakistan Super League.

The league features various cricketing stars along with some rising Pakistani players. This is a big opportunity for youngsters to prove their mettle as PSL is a global event.

The league not just consisted of star players but film stars, singers and cricketing legends are also part of the PSL. Singer Ali Zafar sung anthem of PSL and Islamabad United. Famous actor Fawad Khan is the brand ambassador of the team ISLU. The way entire Pakistan is actively participating in the Pakistan’s biggest league shows their passion towards the game.

Talking about the teams of the league, all teams are equally strong and competitive. Among all the teams, Islamabad United looks very well balanced as former captain of all formats is leading team ISLU. The teams consist of various young and talented players who would be the difference makers.
