Summary Dar had been selected for the ongoing series between India and South Africa

MUMBAI (Dunya News) – The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday caved in to the pressure from Indian Hindu extremist outfit Shiv Sena and stopped Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar from performing his duties as an international umpire, Dunya News reported.

According to details, Dar had been selected for the ongoing series between India and South Africa but he won’t be able to perform his responsibilities as umpire now because ICC itself has removed him after threats from Shiv Sena.

It merits mentioning here that Shiv Sena had threatened Dar and said he would not be allowed to perform his duties as umpire in the final One Day International (ODI).

The fifth ODI between India and South Africa is scheduled for October 25th in Mumbai. Dar has previously performed his responsibilities as umpire in 2011 World Cup that took place in India.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already acquired Dar’s services in Indian Premier League (IPL) as well. Talking exclusively to Dunya News, ICC president Zaheer Abbas had said the issue will be reviewed in ICC meeting.

In another extremist act, Shiv Sena on Monday has thrown black ink on Muslim member of Indian-held Kashmir s Legislature Assembly in the Indian capital.

Engineer Rashid, the independent lawmaker was earlier threatened and tortured by two BJP lawmakers after he hosted a beef party.

"What happened with Kulkarni, happened to me today," Mr Rashid said as quoted by NDTV, referring to the paint attack on columnist Sudheendra Kulkarni last Monday by Shiv Sena workers.

"People talk of Talibanisation of Pakistan, look what is happening in India," Mr Rashid said. "They are mentally ill. 80,000 people have died in Kashmir, putting ink on one Engineer Rashid will not change anything."
