DELHI (Dunya News/ AFP) – In another extremist act, Shiv Sena on Monday has thrown black ink on Muslim member of Indian-held Kashmir s Legislature Assembly in the Indian capital.

Engineer Rashid, the independent lawmaker was earlier threatened and tortured by two BJP lawmakers after he hosted a beef party.

"What happened with Kulkarni, happened to me today," Mr Rashid said as quoted by NDTV, referring to the paint attack on columnist Sudheendra Kulkarni last Monday by Shiv Sena workers.

"People talk of Talibanisation of Pakistan, look what is happening in India," Mr Rashid said. "They are mentally ill. 80,000 people have died in Kashmir, putting ink on one Engineer Rashid will not change anything."

Shiv Sena, earlier today had stormed BCCI after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan arrived in India for talks with counterpart over cricket series.

Relations between the South Asian nuclear rivals have been strained, with continued border ceasefire violations from both sides, leading to the cancellation of a meeting between their security advisers in August.

The Shiv Sena, a junior partner in a ruling coalition with the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Maharashtra state government, opposes any dealings with Pakistan because of the 2008 terror attacks which India blamed on militants from across the border.

Shiva Sena was earlier this month accused of using threats to force the cancellation of an appearance in Mumbai by Pakistani singer Ghulam Ali.
