He was given out for 'obstructing the field' by the 3rd umpire

(Web Desk) – Pakistani wicket-keeper batsman Adnan Akmal got out in a very unorthodox manner while playing a domestic T20 on Thursday for Lahore Blues in Haier Twenty20 Cup.

Adnan Akmal came on field as opening batsman and was playing solidly on 12 when he was given out for ‘obstructing the field’ by the 3rd umpire. He was playing against Quetta Region.

Akmal’s unique dismissal is only the 6th batsman to be dismissed in this fashion. Pakistani batsmen have a history of getting out while blocking the wicket, intentionally or not. Past instances where Pakistani batsman got out in similar fashion include Inzamam ul Haq, Anwar Ali, Mohammad Hafeez and Rameez Raja.

The decision however had no impact on the match as Lahore Blues won the match comfortably.
