Gold price surged by $365 per ounce in global market and Rs 11,750 in local market in 2011.

According to All Pakistan Gold Association President Haroon Chand, during the year gold price closed at $1511 per ounce, once of reached $1577 per ounce. Gold price in local market during the year once recorded at Rs 49,750 per tola and Rs 42,642 per 10-gram.However, on the end of the year, the price remained at Rs 49,050 per tola and Rs 42,042 per 10-gram with an increase of 10,171 as compared with the last year.
