Uber CEO Travis Kalanick apologizes for lashing out at driver
Travis acknowledged that he must fundamentally change himself as a leader and grow up
WEB DESK (Dunya News) – The chief executive officer of Uber Technologies Inc., Travis Kalanick has apologized after a video of his misbehaviour with the driver went viral.
The co-founder and CEO of the technology giant acknowledged that he must fundamentally change himself as a leader and grow up.
In a specified memo posted on the company’s blog, Travis Kalanick addressed to Uber employees while apologizing for his misbehavior in a video that showed him arguing with an Uber driver over falling fares in February.
"This is the first time I ve been willing to admit that I need leadership help and I intend to get it," Kalanick wrote.
"To say that I am ashamed is an extreme understatement," he wrote. "My job as your leader is to lead...and that starts with behaving in a way that makes us all proud."
The video that went viral over the internet was obtained by Bloomberg News. In the video, Uber driver Fawzi Kamel argues that Kalanick is lowering fares as a result of which he lost $97,000.
"I m bankrupt because of you," argue the Uber driver in the video.
Travis Kalanick lashes back, "You know what? Some people don t like to take responsibility for their own shit. They blame everything in their life on somebody else. Good luck," Uber CEO said as he slammed the door.
