LSM grew 3.21 pc in 2015-16: Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday has said that LSM grew 3.21 percent in fiscal year 2015-16 and the government was pursuing further goals.
The federal minister chaired a board meeting of Monetary and Fiscal Policies in Islamabad.
While addressing the meeting, he said that economic indicators were moving in the right direction while growth momentum in LSM was continuing significantly.
He held better energy supplies and lower commodity prices the reasons behind the growth. The meeting was told that automobile industry showed growth of 16.11 percent, that of fertilizers showed 13.81 percent and non-metallic mineral sector witnessed ten percent growth.
Dar said that inflation was contained and the government was making efforts for further reduction in the ongoing financial year 2016-17.
He asserted that inflation would be limited to below six percent this year.
