Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has slashed the price of furnace oil by 2.8 percent which translates into a reduction of Rs1,400 per tonne. The price of furnace now stands at Rs 48,378 from Rs49,778 and would remain applicable for the next thirty days. The above reduction will bring down the cost of production for the power producers that use mostly use furnace oil for generation of power.
