Reports state that funeral prayers and a large condolence gathering will first be held in Tehran before the burial. The main mourning ceremony is scheduled to take place at Imam Khomeini Hall in Tehran from today through Friday. However, the exact date for the burial in Mashhad has not yet been officially announced.
Meanwhile, an unusual claim has surfaced regarding Iran’s top leadership. Israeli media has reported that Mojtaba Khamenei, son of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been elected as Iran’s new Supreme Leader following his father’s reported death in a joint Israeli and U.S. strike.
However, there has been no official confirmation from Iranian authorities regarding these claims.
