The mayor stressed that the American public does not want another war, but rather seeks peace and stability. He urged restraint and diplomatic engagement to prevent further violence in the region.
Meanwhile, Mamdani announced heightened security measures across New York City in light of rising global tensions. He said he remains in constant contact with the city’s police commissioner and emergency management officials, with patrols increased at sensitive locations.
He also emphasized that Iranian-origin residents are an important part of New York’s diverse community and assured that their safety and protection would be ensured at all costs.
