The only dim lights in the mall were the flashlights of smartphones brought by visitors and staffers. Even the social media account of Dubai Mall had to respond to the innumerous queries that they were receiving as a result of the crisis.
Dubai Mall stated, “(We’re) working with the authorities to address the situation. We regret the inconvenience and appreciate your patience."
Many videos were seen on social networking sites of the rather gloomy mall, however, visitors and staff members remained calm throughout the situation. A British tourist commented on the unlikely happening saying, ""Dubai Mall in power outage. Still letting people in, so weird. On the plus side, might get discount at the ice cream shop?"
