Rare Croaker fish found in Gwadar sold for Rs 13.58 million
Croaker fish’s air bladder is considered to be more precious than the meat
GWADAR (Dunya News) - A rare Croaker fish found in Tehsil Jewani near Balochistan’s Gwadar area has been sold for a whopping Rs13.58 million, Dunya News reported on Friday.
According to aquatic life experts, the Croaker (‘Sowa’ in the local language ) fish comes close to the shores of Jiwani and adjacent seas in the summer for breeding. The rare croaker fish is said to be of great commercial importance and demand for it is high in some Asian and European countries.
Croaker fish’s air bladder is considered to be more precious than the meat and is used by pharmaceuticals in the production of surgical items.
