Summary Shaheen Shah Afridi claims his 150th ODI wicket against England in Lahore, becoming Pakistan’s fastest pacer to the milestone in 80 matches.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan left-arm quick Shaheen Shah Afridi reached a major ODI milestone on Sunday, playing in the fourth match of the tri-series against England at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

Pakistan bowled first, and Shaheen struck early by removing England opener Tom Banton for his 150th wicket in the 50-over format. At 26, he is now the fastest Pakistani fast bowler, and the second-fastest Pakistani bowler overall, to reach the landmark.

He got there in his 80th ODI, two matches more than former spinner Saqlain Mushtaq, who holds the national record at 78 matches. Shaheen did, however, move ahead of pace legends Waqar Younis and Shoaib Akhtar, who each needed 91 matches to reach 150 wickets.

The milestone highlights Shaheen’s growing importance to Pakistan’s bowling attack as he continues to build his international record.
