LAHORE (Web Desk) – Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has expressed happiness at seeing young cricketer Maaz Sadaqat fulfil his dream of representing Pakistan, recalling the day the youngster visited his home in Peshawar with his brother, Haroon.

In a message shared on social media platform X, Rizwan said it felt like only yesterday that a young boy had come to meet him with the dream of playing for Pakistan.

He recalled that the youngster had hope in his eyes and determination in his heart, adding that seeing the same boy wearing Pakistan’s national shirt had brought him immense happiness.

Rizwan expressed hope that the moment would mark the beginning of a successful journey for Maaz and prayed for the youngster’s continued progress.

Encouraging young people to pursue their ambitions, Rizwan said that whether the dream was to wear Pakistan’s shirt or achieve something else in life, hard work, patience and faith in Allah were essential.

The wicketkeeper-batter also congratulated Sahibzada Farhan and the Pakistan team on winning their home T20I series against Sri Lanka.

Maaz recently delivered an impressive performance in the second T20I against Sri Lanka at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, scoring 96 runs off 51 balls, including six fours and seven sixes.

His innings helped Pakistan post 215 for three before the hosts defeated Sri Lanka by 82 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Maaz’s performance came after he scored a half-century on his T20I debut in the opening match of the series, underlining his promising start in international cricket.
