RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 82 runs in the second T20 International at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday, taking a commanding position in the series after posting 215 for three and bowling out the visitors for 133.

Chasing a challenging target of 216, Sri Lanka failed to build momentum and were dismissed for 133.

Maheesh Theekshana top-scored with 32 runs, while Wickramasinghe contributed 29 and Kamindu Mendis made 23.

Janith Jayawardene scored 22 before being dismissed, while Kusal Mendis managed nine runs. Lahiru Udara made five, and Sahan Arachchige departed without scoring.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Imran led the bowling attack with three wickets, while Salman Mirza claimed two.

Saim Ayub and Shadab Khan took one wicket each.

Earlier, Sri Lanka captain won the toss and elected to field, inviting Pakistan skipper Sahibzada Farhan to bat first.

Pakistan made the most of the opportunity, scoring 215 for three in their allotted 20 overs.

Maaz Sadaqat starred with a superb 96 but narrowly missed out on a century.

Farhan also produced an impressive innings, scoring 73 runs, while Fakhar Zaman contributed 22. Hasan Nawaz remained unbeaten on 19.

Sri Lanka's Eshan Malinga, Maheesh Theekshana and Dasun Shanaka took one wicket apiece.

Pakistan had entered the match with a 1-0 advantage in the three-match series after securing a four-wicket victory in the opening T20I on Friday.
