Summary Spain has announced its 26-man World Cup squad without any Real Madrid players for the first time in history, relying heavily on Barcelona stars and Premier League talent.

MADRID (Web Desk) – European champion Spain has announced its 26-member squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, marking a surprising selection decision as no player from Real Madrid has been included.

It is the first time in Spain’s football history that the national team will feature in a World Cup without any representation from Real Madrid. Head coach Luis de la Fuente has instead built his squad largely around players from FC Barcelona.

The squad includes eight Barcelona players, with standout names such as Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Gavi, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres.

Notable Real Madrid-linked players such as Dean Huijsen and Dani Carvajal were left out of the final selection, despite expectations of inclusion.

Explaining his decision, De la Fuente said that club affiliation does not matter to him, stressing that selection is based on commitment to the national team and players who take pride in representing Spain.

The squad also features seven players from the English Premier League. The coach expressed confidence in the fitness of Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, saying all selected players are expected to be fully prepared ahead of the tournament.
