Summary Pakistan Women sealed a 3-0 ODI series sweep over Zimbabwe in Karachi after Gull Feroza’s unbeaten century guided the hosts to a dominant nine-wicket victory.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Women completed a commanding clean sweep of their ODI series against Zimbabwe with a crushing nine-wicket victory in the third and final match in Karachi on Saturday.
The hosts chased down a competitive 223-run target in just 31.5 overs, underlining their dominance throughout the three-match series.
Zimbabwe Women, batting first at the National Stadium in Karachi, posted 222 for nine from their 50 overs after opting to build patiently through the middle overs. The visitors showed more resistance than in the previous two matches, with their batters stitching together useful partnerships to push beyond the 220-mark. However, Pakistan’s bowlers maintained pressure for most of the innings and restricted Zimbabwe from accelerating towards the end.
Pakistan’s reply was emphatic from the outset as openers Gull Feroza and Sadaf Shamas once again laid the foundation for a commanding chase. The pair, who had already starred throughout the series, dismantled Zimbabwe’s bowling attack with a fluent opening stand that effectively settled the contest long before the finish.
Gull Feroza produced the standout performance of the match with a magnificent unbeaten 106 off 92 deliveries. Her innings combined composure with aggressive strokeplay, as she found boundaries regularly and kept the scoreboard moving at a rapid pace. Sadaf Shamas complemented her perfectly with an impressive 90, continuing her excellent form in the series after earlier big scores against the visitors.
Pakistan lost only one wicket during the chase and comfortably crossed the target with 109 balls remaining, highlighting the gulf between the two sides across the series. Muneeba Ali remained unbeaten at the crease alongside Gull Feroza as Pakistan sealed the victory in dominant fashion.
The clean sweep capped a highly successful ODI campaign for Pakistan Women under captain Fatima Sana. The series also served as an important part of Pakistan’s preparations for the ICC Women’s Championship 2025-2029 cycle and upcoming international assignments.
Pakistan had already secured the series earlier in the week with a massive 206-run victory in the second ODI, where centuries from Sadaf Shamas and Gull Feroza powered the hosts to 343 for four before Zimbabwe were bowled out for 137.
In the opening match, Pakistan Women had also produced a one-sided performance, registering a 168-run win after posting 330 for five. Sadaf Shamas narrowly missed out on a century in that game with a superb 98, while Gull Feroza and Sidra Amin also contributed strongly with the bat.
The series victory will provide a major confidence boost for Pakistan Women as several batters found consistency and rhythm at the top of the order. Gull Feroza emerged as one of the biggest positives for the hosts, finishing the series with a century and multiple half-centuries, while Sadaf Shamas continued to strengthen her reputation as one of the side’s most dependable performers.
Zimbabwe Women, meanwhile, struggled to contain Pakistan’s batting depth across all three matches despite showing flashes of promise with the bat in the final ODI. The visitors were outplayed in all departments throughout the series, particularly against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack and dominant opening partnerships.
