MUSCAT (Dunya News) – England’s Harvey Chandler has been crowned world champion after defeating Pakistan’s Asjad Iqbal in the final of the IBSF Snooker World Cup held in Muscat, Oman.
The English cueist sealed the title with a commanding 5-2 victory, showcasing exceptional precision and break-building under pressure.
The final frame scores stood at 0-83, 66-16, 29-95, 8-16, 86-3, 37-65 and 15-70 in favour of Chandler, who delivered impressive breaks of 52 and 67 during the match. His dominance at key stages proved decisive, as he maintained composure to secure the coveted global title.
Asjad Iqbal, who had delivered an outstanding performance throughout the tournament, earned his place in the final after defeating France’s Nicolas Mortreux 5-2 in the semi-final. His road to the final drew praise from the event officials, including Naveed Kapadia, Secretary General of the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association, who also served as the head referee for the championship.
The final brought together top-tier talent from both nations, with Chandler’s tactical mastery and scoring prowess ultimately prevailing over Iqbal’s spirited challenge.
