In a first, Lahore's husband-wife duo scales Manaslu peak

A few days ago Naila Kiani became first Pakistani woman to conquer the eighth highest peak in world

LAHORE (Web Desk) - Ahmed Uzair and Anum Uzair, who hail from Lahore, have become the first Pakistani couple to summit the world’s eighth-highest peak (8,163 metres above sea level) Mount Manaslu in Nepal. 

Aided by three Sherpas, the husband-and-wife adventurers passed this remarkable milestone on Sunday, as confirmed by Seven Summit Treks, the organisers of the expedition. 

The Seven Summit Treks feliciated Ahmed and Anum Uzair for successfully climbing the eighth highest peak, Mt Manaslu (8,163m). It through a post on social networking website X on Sunday said Ahmed and Anum were the first Pakistani couple to achieve (climb 8,000m peak) this feat. 

Pakistani climber Shehroze Kashif, who had recently summited the Manaslu peak, also congratulated the couple.

 

On Thursday, mountaineers Naila Kiani and Sirbaz Khan had also summited Manaslu peak.
