Naseem Akhtar from Pakistan wins IBSF World U18 Snooker Championship

He will now compete in U21 Championship from Wednesday along with Haris Tahir

(Web Desk) – A young cueist from Pakistan named Naseem Akhtar has been titled the winner of International Billiard & Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Under-18 Snooker Championship.

The emerging talent proved his mettle and made his country proud by becoming the first Pakistani to win a title in world junior snooker championships. He was crowned the winner in the third IBSF World U18 Snooker Championship which took place in the Chinese capital Beijing.

Naseem Akhtar is only 16-year-old and belongs from Sahiwal. He defeated his opponent from China Peifan with the scores of 20-62, 69-68, 37-71, 19-57, 127-06, 84-40, 61-37 and 74-08 in the eight sets that both played.

Apart from this triumphant, Akhtar previously became the National Junior Champion. He and Haris Tahir, another talented young cueist, will now play from Pakistan in the U21 format of the Championship.
