PIA to face NBP in National Hockey Championship final
The final will be played between PIA and NBP today (Wednesday) at 02:00 pm.
LAHORE (Daily Dunya) – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) have won their respective matches and qualified for the final of Inter-Departmental National Hockey Championship.
Semi-finals were played on Tuesday in which PIA defeated Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and NBP overcame Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).
The first semi-final was played between PIA and WAPDA. PIA downed WAPDA by six goals to four in a hard fought battle.
From PIA, Kashif Ali scored three, Shafqat Rasool recorded two and Zubair marked one goal.
Ijaz scored two goals from WAPDA whereas Rana Umair and Waseem recorded one goal each.
In second semi-final, SSGC could not take advantage of the opportunities they got and were beaten 2-0 by the experienced NBP.
Dilber and Ammad Butt shared one goal each from the winning side.
