SC suo motu on woman torture incident demanded

People of Chiniot have demanded suo motu from CJP on police torture on women.

People of different walks of life in Chiniot have demanded Chief Justice of Pakistan take suo motu notice on the brutality of Chiniot police against women.The eyewitnesses said that Chiniot police thrashed and baton-charged women publicly on October 8. The people also showed their strong reaction as no strict action has been taken against police personnel involved in the incident.The people said that Punjab government is concealing truth to save the police despite the fact that policemen tortured helpless women in broad daylight and threw them the truck as if they were animals. People appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take suo motu notice of the incident.
