Summary Islamabad ATC has maintained arrest warrants against KP CM Sohail Afridi and others in the Nov 26 protest case, rejecting their exemption pleas and seeking an early challan.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has maintained arrest warrants against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Abdul Ghani Afridi, Junaid Akbar and other accused in the November 26 protest case, while proceedings to declare the accused proclaimed offenders also continue.
ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra heard the case and issued arrest warrants for the accused who failed to appear before the court. The court also rejected applications seeking exemption from personal appearance filed by the accused.
The proceedings to declare Sohail Afridi and other accused proclaimed offenders are also under way in the case.
The court directed police to submit the challan against Sohail Afridi and the other accused at the earliest and adjourned further hearing of the case until September 30.
The case against Sohail Afridi and others was registered at Margalla Police Station in connection with the November 26 protest.
