Summary He said the arrangement was currently limited to the parliamentary sphere and could not be described as a political alliance
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the cooperation with PTI is only confined to the Parliament and there is no political alliance between the two parties at the grassroots level.
He said the arrangement was currently limited to the parliamentary sphere and could not be described as a political alliance.
The JUI-F chief expressed these views at the residence of veteran journalist Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami in Lahore on Sunday.
Speaking on the issue of relations between the federation and provinces, Fazlur Rehman said the matter was essentially linked to the National Finance Commission (NFC).
He said the Constitution allowed an increase in the provincial share under the NFC but did not permit a reduction.

“When there is a fire in the house, this is not the time to talk about division,” the JUI-F chief said, expressing concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the country.
Fazlur Rehman claimed that the writ of the government had been weakened in three provinces and alleged that the federal government wanted to take control of the provinces’ mineral resources.
Senior journalists Salman Ghani, Sohail Warraich, Mansoor Ali Khan and others were also present at the gathering, during which the participants held detailed discussions on the country’s prevailing political situation.
