LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has vowed to protect public funds from bribery and corruption, saying ensuring transparency in development projects is a top priority of the provincial government.

Addressing a gathering at the Software Technology Park of the Punjab Information Technology Board in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz said the government would not allow the hard-earned money of the people to be wasted on bribery and corruption.

“We will reach your collars,” the chief minister said, stressing that every rupee in the national exchequer represented the hard work and earnings of the people and would not be allowed to fall victim to corruption.

Maryam Nawaz said large-scale development projects were underway across Punjab, with trillions of rupees being spent on various initiatives. These projects include the Kisan Card, Apni Chhat Apna Ghar scheme, road construction, metro projects, green buses and train systems, along with infrastructure development in different sectors.

She said the government had launched multiple projects to provide better transport facilities and modern infrastructure to the people, while various welfare programmes were also being implemented for farmers and low-income groups.

The chief minister said farmers were being facilitated through the Kisan Card, while the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar scheme was helping people build their own homes. She added that millions of farmers were benefiting from the Kisan Card.

Maryam Nawaz said the government’s objective was to spend public resources solely on the welfare of the people and that action against corruption would continue. She added that transparency and merit were also being ensured alongside development projects across Punjab.

The chief minister expressed her resolve to protect every rupee of public money and said no one would be allowed to misuse or betray the public resources.
