ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan is set to receive another spell of monsoon rains, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasting strong winds, thunderstorms and rainfall across upper and central parts of the country from August 17 to 21.
According to the Met Office, monsoon currents are entering the upper parts of Pakistan and the weather system is expected to remain in place over the coming days.
The PMD said a westerly wave would also enter the country’s upper regions from August 17, resulting in intermittent rain in several areas.
Rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan during the forecast period.

Some areas of Balochistan may also receive thunderstorms and rainfall.
The weather department advised residents in the affected areas to remain alert as strong winds and thunderstorms could cause localized disruption.
Meanwhile, most parts of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to experience hot and humid weather during the period.
The latest forecast comes as several parts of the country continue to experience monsoon activity, with authorities and residents urged to take necessary precautions in areas vulnerable to heavy rain, strong winds and associated weather-related hazards.
