FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – Police have registered a case against employees of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) after three people were burnt alive and four injured due to a gas leakage from the main pipeline outside the house of the victims, Dunya News reported here on Wednesday.

Six days ago, a fire broke out in a house in Masoodabad area of Faisalabad due to a gas leak from the main pipeline, killing three, including a woman, and severely burning four others.

The bereaved family alleged that the fire in the house was caused by a leak from the main gas pipeline.

They said complaints regarding the gas leak were filed with Sui Gas authorities several times, but the problem was not resolved.

Police have registered a case against General Manager Sui and other officials six days after the incident.

People of the area and family members of those killed in the fire held a protest demonstration against the Sui Gas Department near Allied Hospital and demanded action against those responsible.
