Summary Convenes meeting on August 20 for consultation on fixing date
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has convened a meeting with regard to a date for holding local government elections in Punjab.
The Election Commission has written a letter to the Punjab government inviting it to attend the meeting to consult on the announcement of the polling date for the local government elections.
The Election Commission's letter has asked the Punjab government to immediately form a provincial cabinet committee to consult on the issue of local government elections.
According to the letter, the consultation will be held under the Election Law and the Punjab Local Government Law, while the consultation meeting will be held at 11 am on August 20 at the Election Commission office in Islamabad.
The Election Commission has directed the Punjab government to attend the provincial cabinet committee meeting, where final consultations will be held on the polling date for holding local government elections in Punjab.
