KARACHI (Dunya News) – A judicial magistrate has ordered an inquiry officer to complete investigation into the Gul Plaza fire case until August 9.
During the hearing in the case here on Tuesday, investigation officer appeared in court and requested more time to complete the investigation.
The officer told the court that responses have been received from six government agencies - Traffic Police, Fire Brigade, Civil Defence, KMC, DC South and Rescue 1122, however, responses from two agencies - SBCA and Water Corporation - have not been received yet.
He said responses are awaited from the Sindh Building Control Authority and the Water Corporation.
The court gave the officer time until August 9 to complete the investigation and directed that the investigation be completed and a report be submitted by the next hearing.
In another case, an investigation officer appeared in a court in bail application of an accused in the Gul Plaza tragedy case in the Additional District and Sessions Court South, however, the accused was unable to appear in court.
The defence lawyer argued that the accused could not reach the court due to roadblocks around the procession route. The court adjourned the hearing without taking any action and extended the interim bail of the accused until August 15.
