Summary Says the issue of refugee seats could not be resolved in the manner it should have been
MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has stressed that fair and transparent elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir will guarantee lasting solution to people’s problems in the region, saying controversial election result will make the new government controversial.
Addressing workers here on in Muzaffarabad, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said elections are the only means through which a strong house comes into being that can find effective solutions to the country's problems.
He emphasised that this is the most important election in the history of Kashmir, and transparent, free and fair elections are essential to resolve national issues.
The PPP chairman said the issue of refugee seats could not be resolved in the manner it should have been.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that if the elections are controversial, the mandate of the incoming government will also be controversial. A government with a controversial mandate will not have the ability to find effective solutions to the challenges facing the country and public problems.
He described a transparent electoral process as a fundamental condition for political stability and democratic consolidation.
