LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif met Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan on Tuesday to discuss the country's overall situation, legislative affairs and the provincial government's development initiatives.

During the meeting, both leaders exchanged views on the prevailing national situation in the context of global developments and agreed to promote greater coordination in the proceedings of the Punjab Assembly. They also discussed legislation related to prison reforms.

Maryam Nawaz directed the speaker to ensure the participation of both treasury and opposition members in the legislative process to strengthen lawmaking in the provincial assembly.

Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan praised the chief minister's policy presented at the National Peace Message Committee and congratulated her on the launch of the Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar scheme. In response, Maryam Nawaz said the initiative was the result of the collective efforts of her entire team.

The chief minister said the Punjab government is introducing new public welfare projects on a regular basis, with a special focus on underdeveloped areas. She added that electric buses are being introduced on rural routes, while modern agricultural machinery is also being promoted.

Maryam Nawaz said the Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar scheme has provided land and employment opportunities to 30,000 unemployed families across the province.
