ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan is playing a constructive and sincere role in promoting peace and stability in the region, the Foreign Office said on Thursday, while reiterating its condemnation of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
Speaking at the weekly media briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said the past two weeks had been marked by significant diplomatic activity involving Pakistan's leadership and senior officials.
The spokesperson highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s successful visit to China, during which Pakistan and China signed a number of memorandums of understanding aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in various sectors.
He said the visit reflected the continued strength of relations between the two countries and underscored their commitment to expanding cooperation and strategic engagement.
Andrabi further noted that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar visited the United States following his trip to China, where he held meetings with members of the US leadership.
According to the spokesperson, discussions during the meetings focused on efforts to promote peace and stability as well as broader regional and international issues of mutual interest.
He added that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio appreciated Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue and supporting efforts aimed at conflict resolution and peacebuilding.
The Foreign Office spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to diplomatic engagement and peaceful solutions to regional challenges, emphasizing that Islamabad continues to support initiatives that contribute to stability and cooperation.
He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong condemnation of Israeli actions against Palestinians and reiterated the country's longstanding support for the Palestinian cause and the protection of civilian lives.
