Punjab warns of action against setting up illegal cattle sale points

Summary Control rooms should be activated at the central and district levels

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Local Government Department on Saturday issued comprehensive guidelines for Eidul Azha arrangements.

According to the guidelines, temporary cattle sale points in Punjab should be fully functional by Sunday (today), and strict action will be taken against illegal cattle markets and roadside animal sales.

The Punjab Waste Management Authority and waste management companies will remain active 24/7 during Eid operations. The leaves of the staff of local government offices will be cancelled during Eid days.

According to the guidelines, biodegradable waste bags will be provided and distributed to citizens in a timely manner, and awareness camps will be set up within each union council.

According to the local government, control rooms should be activated at the central and district levels, and those who throw garbage into roads or drains will be fined.

There will be a complete ban on the buying and selling of animals anywhere except at notified sale points. Provision of parking, water and other facilities should be ensured at each sale point.

Central control rooms will be established at the headquarters of the Clean Punjab Authority and in all districts.
