ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The first meeting of the committee, formed by the Prime Minister to review the issue involving One Constitution Avenue, was held on Monday.
Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar chaired the meeting, which was also attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry. The committee sought details about One Constitution Avenue from the Chairman of Capital Development Authority (CDA).
According to sources, the first meeting of the committee was attended by CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf and Member Estate Zaman Wattoo. The CDA Chairman presented facts regarding One Constitution Avenue before the committee.
The committee also requested another briefing from the CDA on the matter on Tuesday. While speaking to participants, Azam Nazeer Tarar said that after briefing from the CDA, those affected by One Constitution Avenue will also be heard through their representatives.
He added that the committee will review all legal and technical aspects before presenting its report to the Prime Minister. He said that the committee is aware of the written verdict of the Islamabad High Court.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Cabinet Division and the Secretary of Commerce also attended the meeting as committee members. The committee expressed its resolve to compile its report as soon as possible.
