JI to launch nationwide campaign against IPPs, petrol mafia after Eid

MULTAN (Dunya News) - Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Monday announced to launch a nationwide campaign against independent power producers (IPPs) and petrol mafia after Eidul Azha.

Addressing a ceremony in Multan, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that government has imposed tax even on solar energy. He said that the education has been ruined in the country by outsourcing government schools. He said that the people will have to come out to change this system.

He said that unlike other political parties in in the country, Jamaat-e-Islami doesn't have hereditary leadership and is not controlled by a single family either. He said that now there is a need to change the system.

Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman further stated that Pakistan’s debt has increased by Rs 80 trillion. He said that the interest-based system is not being eliminated. He added that if Jamaat-e-Islami gets the opportunity, they will provide free education from nursery to university level.

He concluded by saying that monopolies held by a few individuals will be ended, and after Eidul Azha, a major movement will be launched against IPPs and the petrol mafia.
