ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has claimed a record recovery of Rs2.962 trillion during the first quarter of 2026, which it said was 33 times higher than the same period last year.
According to details released by NAB, 54,387 acres of government land worth Rs2.89 trillion were recovered in Karachi and Sukkur.
In Lahore and Multan, authorities said 4,034 acres of land worth Rs23.33 billion were also retrieved.
In Balochistan, NAB claimed recovery of 51,577 acres of government land valued at Rs36.54 billion.
The report stated that 6,475 victims in fraud cases were collectively refunded Rs1.78 billion.
NAB also said direct recoveries of Rs11.085 billion were made through plea bargains and fines.
Officials added that 900,000 acres of government land worth Rs4.37 trillion had been identified in Punjab, while land worth Rs10.96 trillion had been traced in Sindh.
Special task forces have reportedly been formed for recoveries in Sindh.
NAB said efforts would continue to prevent misuse of state land and safeguard national assets for the public treasury.
