KARACHI (Dunya News) – A mild earthquake shook Karachi and Balochistan, causing panic among citizens.

According to the Seismological Centre, a 3.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Malir area of the City.

Similarly, the depth of the earthquake was recorded at 10-kilometre, and the epicenter was 24 kilometres northwest of Malir.

Earthquake tremors were also felt in the Pasni area of Balochistan, with the intensity of the earthquake recorded at 4.5 on the Richter scale.

In addition, the depth of the earthquake was 13 kilometres underground, and the epicenter was 48 kilometres southwest of Pasni.

Earlier on Friday, earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and other cities, causing panic among residents.

According to the seismic monitoring center, tremors were also recorded in Swat, Hangu, North Waziristan and Chitral.

In addition, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Peshawar also experienced noticeable shaking. The seismic center stated that the earthquake measured 5.5 on the Richter scale, with a recorded depth of 199 kilometers.

The epicenter was located in the Hindu Kush mountain region of Afghanistan.
