ANTALYA (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday held a high-level meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, where both leaders discussed bilateral ties and evolving regional dynamics in detail.
The meeting took place in Antalya and was attended by senior officials from both sides. Pakistan’s delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, along with other high-ranking officials. The Turkish side was represented by its foreign minister and senior government officials.
President Erdogan welcomed the Prime Minister’s participation in the forum and expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement. PM Shehbaz thanked the Turkish leadership for the warm reception and hospitality extended to the Pakistani delegation. He also congratulated President Erdogan on the successful organisation of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, describing it as an increasingly important global platform for dialogue and cooperation. President Erdogan noted that the forum has evolved into a key venue for addressing pressing international issues.
Discussions between the two leaders covered recent regional developments, with particular focus on the changing situation in the Middle East. Both sides exchanged views on the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement and agreed on the need to promote lasting and stable peace across the region.
The meeting also reflected satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations. Both leaders agreed to convene the eighth session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Ankara later this year, signalling continued institutional engagement between the two countries.
