Pakistan, Lebanon agree on urgent need for regional de-escalation

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan and Lebanon have agreed on the need for de-escalation and restoration of peace in the region, at the earliest.
This agreement was reached at a telephonic conversation between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his Lebanese counterpart Nawaf Salam on Wednesday.
The two leaders also exchanged views over the recent escalation in the region, following Israel's attacks on Iran and subsequent retaliatory strikes on brotherly Gulf countries.
During their discussion, the prime minister condemned Israel's aggression against Lebanon.

He conveyed deep condolences over the loss of precious lives due to Israeli attacks and reaffirmed Pakistan's solidarity with the Lebanese people.
While recalling the longstanding brotherly ties between Pakistan and Lebanon, Shehbaz Sharif assured the Lebanese leadership of Pakistan's full support for Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and offered to play a constructive role in peace efforts.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the people of Pakistan for their expression of solidarity with Lebanon at this difficult time.
