LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the new uniform for the Lahore traffic police.

Authorities have issued an official notification, stating that traffic wardens will begin wearing the new uniforms from February 14, 2026.

In the first phase, the uniform change will take place in Lahore, followed by a second phase where the uniforms will be updated in the districts of Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan, and Rawalpindi.

The third phase will see a similar uniform overhaul in other districts of Punjab.

In addition to the uniform changes, traffic police officials have announced the launch of electric patrolling vehicles.

These electric cars will be linked to the Safe Cities Authority, helping streamline traffic monitoring. Authorities expect that the introduction of electric vehicles will lead to significant fuel savings, amounting to millions of rupees in reduced fuel costs.
