ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai has written to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, raising concerns over the health of the founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and seeking immediate government intervention.

In his letter, Achakzai demanded that the PTI founder undergo a comprehensive medical examination by independent and personal physicians while in custody at Adiala Jail.

He expressed serious concern that recent medical assessments were conducted without the presence of family members or privately appointed doctors, calling the situation a violation of basic human rights.

Achakzai urged the prime minister to personally intervene, emphasizing that the matter goes beyond politics and relates to fundamental humanitarian principles.

According to the letter, he recommended that doctors from Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Shifa International Hospital conduct the examination.

He also proposed the names of Dr. Muhammad Asim Yusuf, Professor Dr. Mazhar Ishaq, and Professor Dr. Aamir Awan for the medical review.
