The elections of the Courts Journalists Association were held at the press room of the Lahore High Court
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Courts Journalists Association (CJA) elected its new body on Saturday with Muhammad Ashfaq elected as President and Muhammad Haroon as Secretary.
Imran Ehsan was elected Senior Vice President, Sheikh Zain-ul-Abideen Vice President, Rana Bilal Finance Secretary, Suleman Awan Information Secretary, and Asad Shah Secretary Digital Media.
President Lahore Press Club Arshad Ansari, representatives of the Pakistan Bar Council and Punjab Bar Council, Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Provincial Information Minister Azma Bukhari, along with other federal and provincial ministers and bar councils, extended congratulations and best wishes to the newly elected office-bearers.
The elections of the Courts Journalists Association were held at the press room of the Lahore High Court.
All candidates, including the president, were elected unopposed as no nomination papers were submitted against them.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairman Pakistan Bar Council Pir Masood Chishti, Member Judicial Commission of Pakistan Ahsan Bhoon, Vice Chairman and Chairman Executive Punjab Bar Council and President Lahore High Court Bar Asif Niswaana, Secretary Lahore High Court Bar Farrukh Ilyas Cheema, President Lahore Bar Association Irfan Hayat Bajwa, and representatives of the Lahore Press Club also congratulated the newly elected cabinet.

They termed the democratic selection of leadership a positive development.
They said that court reporters have always upheld journalistic values and expressed hope that the newly elected office-bearers would further strengthen the organization.
They added that court reporters serve as an important bridge between the judicial system and the public, and expressed expectations that the new team would work towards resolving journalists’ issues and improving the quality of reporting.
Senior journalists Gul Chaman Shah, Habib Chohan, and Shadab Riaz performed the duties of the election commission during the polls.
More than 45 court reporters participated in the elections, including senior journalists Jalil-ur-Rehman, Sajid Zia, Malik Ashraf, Zia-ur-Rehman, Faisal Khan, Tariq Khan, Arif Malik, Shakir Awan, Waqas Awan, Arshad Ali, Rai Shah Nawaz, Naveed Hayat, Yasir Abbasi, Hafiz Abdul Rehman, Riaz Bhatti, Shaukat Saeed, Rana Tariq Mahmood, Shahzada Khalid, Talha Qureshi, Shabbir Zafar Choudhry, Natiq Rehan, Abubakar, Mustaqeem Nawaz, and Ehsan Ahmed.
